Is there any internet providers that don't require a bt/virginmedia line??

If you want broadband by a wired connection, then I think BT/Virginmedia is the only option. Maybe you can try the new usb modems from 3, T-Mobile or Vodafone. They are a bit expensive, esp. the hardware cost. But you will get good speed if you live in an area that has good coverage. Good Luck!!!
