logy means the two structures evolved from the same ancestral line. Like a human arm and a bat wing, or insect wing and bird wing (different types of animals). ogy means the two structures come from different ancestral lines, but have the same function. Like a bird wing and a bat wing, or body of flying squirrel and sugar glider (all mammals).
